Fort Worth, United States- Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, LLC., and Schmitz Cargobull Corporation, a producer of trailers in Europe, announced the launch of Cargobull North America and unveiled new transport refrigeration units (TRUs) at the 2023 Solutions Conference of the International Foodservice Distributors Association.
Schmitz Cargobull's newest TRU technology on its 3000R family of trailers is only distributed in North America by Utility Trailer. Cargobull is well-positioned to assist TRU technology in North America to advance significantly when combined with Utility's advances and its strong dealer network. Innovative components result in up to 20% less fuel usage, pollution reductions and elimination, and improved trailer telematics for fleet logistics management. The factory-installed Utility TrailerConnect PRO telematics solution provides secure temperature-control management through active monitoring and deft remote administration of the refrigeration units. Additionally, the telematics platform is built to make it simple for transport businesses to exchange the data with their partners.
Andreas Schmitz Chairman of the Board- Schmitz Cargobull said, “It was only natural for us to enter talks with Utility Trailer. They have in-depth market knowledge and a comprehensive dealer network, and, as we’re both family-owned-and-operated companies, Utility and Schmitz Cargobull share many of the same values. I am very much looking forward to our collaboration. Above all, I am convinced that together we will provide added value to North American customers and revolutionize the market.”
The 625 single-temperature and 655MT multi-temperature hybrid TRUs are part of the new lineup that Utility's 3000R reefers will be bringing to North America. Soon, fully electric, TUV-homologated vehicles with battery-recovery axles will be available.
The TRU technology that was just introduced today already complies with California's strict emission regulations for 2030. Additionally, it complies with CARB's ultra-low-emission TRU (ULETRU) rules without the use of a troublesome diesel particulate filter (DPF) or exhaust gas recirculation valve. Operators will reduce emissions while maximizing cooling efficiencies because the units may be plugged in at a loading dock.
Jeff Bennett President and CEO of Utility Trailers said, “Our joint venture with Cargobull further positions Utility Trailer as a global leader in sustainability, fuel efficiency, and emission reduction. We don’t just want to be the biggest, but also the best, holistic destination for everything reefer customers need, from strong and lightweight boxes to energy-efficient TRUs and high-tech telematics—all in one trailer.”
A Hatz industrial diesel engine with fuel-efficient common-rail injection, a dependable hybrid powertrain, fully embedded shore power, and noise-dampening options that are included as standard for quieter loading docks and the quietest diesel operation available in North America are additional benefits of the new Utility and Cargobull North America TRUs.
