Nashville, United States- Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co. LLC has introduced its next-generation hybrid Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs), designed exclusively for its thermally efficient 3000R refrigerated trailer platform. Powered by the latest Cargobull refrigeration technology, the new Cargobull 625+ Mono-Temp Hybrid and 655MT+ Multi-Temp Hybrid TRUs bring major improvements in cooling performance, operational efficiency, and sustainability for North American fleets.

The updated refrigeration lineup features proven ultra-low-emission hybrid technology and includes a newly developed hermetic two-stage compressor. This compact sealed assembly eliminates the need for a shaft seal, helping reduce refrigerant loss and improve long-term reliability. The system is also equipped with Cargobull’s advanced microchannel condenser, which improves heat transfer for faster and more energy-efficient cooling.

The new hybrid TRUs deliver up to 20% greater cooling capacity at -20°F, enabling faster pull-down times and more consistent temperature control in a wide range of operating conditions, including deep-frozen applications. Their sealed design also helps reduce maintenance requirements, lowering the overall cost of ownership for fleet operators. In addition, an advanced BCU telematics system monitors operating performance, supports uptime, and simplifies fleet management.

For added flexibility, the TRUs are available with an optional electric power take-off (ePTO). When paired with a compatible electric tractor, the system allows the refrigeration unit to run electrically, improving efficiency and reducing fuel consumption. This setup removes the need for a high-voltage battery system or e-axle on the trailer, lowering upfront costs while improving reliability.

When combined with Utility’s 3000R refrigerated trailer, the Cargobull 625+ and 655MT+ TRUs take full advantage of the trailer’s optimized insulation, airflow design, and proven durability. Together, they create a fully integrated refrigerated transport solution that offers stronger temperature control, improved fuel efficiency, and dependable long-term performance.

Mr. Steve Bennett, President and COO of Utility, said the new technology represents a major milestone in refrigerated transport. He noted that by combining advanced hybrid TRUs with the proven capabilities of the 3000R, Utility is providing fleets with a smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable solution for protecting temperature-controlled cargo from day one.
