Paris, France - Valeo SA, an automotive supplier and technology company, is strengthening its position in the electric vehicle ecosystem with a new range of advanced smart charging solutions. The company will showcase these technologies at Drive to Zero in Paris on June 2 and 3.
For the first time, Valeo will present its new Ineez AC charging station, which integrates bidirectional Vehicle-to-Grid technology and the ISO 15118-20 communication protocol. This allows electric vehicles to connect with the grid, turning the charger into a smart energy hub that helps manage power flow and reduce charging costs.
Ms. Isabelle D’Ambrosio, Vice President Smart Mobility at Valeo, said “At Valeo, we are combining our industrial excellence and software protocols, to make advanced energy flexibility both accessible and future-proof for our customers, expanding our reach beyond the traditional automotive technology. We are proud to present our latest Ineez AC charging station that offers Vehicle-to-grid technology as well as the latest communication protocol that secures a safe interface between the vehicle and the charging station.”
At Drive to Zero, Valeo is presenting its latest AC charging station, developed to support the growing need for smarter and more flexible electricity grids. The new solution comes with built-in bidirectional Vehicle-to-Grid technology and the advanced ISO 15118-20 communication protocol, which creates a secure connection between the electric vehicle and the charging station.
Valeo’s embedded software allows the charger to adapt to different grid requirements in each country. Instead of simply supplying power, the charging station enables real-time communication between the vehicle and the grid, helping share energy data, optimize charging costs and safely manage two-way energy flow.
With this technology, electric vehicles can send energy back to the grid or buildings during peak demand periods. This transforms a regular charging point into a smart and cost-effective energy hub that supports the wider energy transition.
The V2G charging station is based on software and hardware technology originally developed by IoTecha, which is now owned by Valeo. Combined with Valeo’s engineering expertise and its cloud-based IoT.ON™ platform, the solution helps ensure smooth communication between the vehicle, charger and grid.
Mr. Oleg Logvinov, Founder of IoTecha, said “As EV infrastructure becomes woven into the fabric of daily life – from the driveway to the highway – the potential for asset monetization scales exponentially. IoTecha’s platform, now a part of Valeo’s global ecosystem, bridges the gap between simple charging and smart monetization. We aren’t just charging vehicles; we are providing a one-stop shop to turn every EV into a high-performance revenue engine.”
Valeo is enhancing the EV charging experience with advanced technologies that make charging simpler, safer and more cost-efficient for users. Its solutions offer greater convenience, strong cybersecurity and lower energy costs through features such as Autocharge, which enables automatic cardless authentication, and the ISO 15118-20 communication protocol, which supports secure data transfer and bidirectional Vehicle-to-Grid charging.
Valeo also focuses on smooth integration between its charging hardware and backend supervision platform. This ensures better compliance, interoperability and easier deployment of future V2G applications across different customer segments.
At Drive to Zero, Valeo is showcasing its complete Ineez charging portfolio, designed for fleet operators, commercial buildings, residential users and automotive partners. The range includes smart unidirectional AC charging stations, advanced bidirectional V2G AC charging stations, energy monitoring and management solutions for commercial and industrial applications, along with Ineez charging cables and mobile chargers.
