Van Der Mierden Adds DAF XD E-Truck

Haddenham, United Kingdom- DAF Trucks Ltd, has delivered a unique XD Electric tractor unit to Van Der Mierden Transport in the Netherlands for dairy transport operations. Inspired by the iconic DAF racing truck from 1996, the one-off electric vehicle combines a distinctive motorsport-inspired design with zero-emission technology.

The truck is based on the DAF XD 350 FT 4x2 tractor unit and features a special colour scheme and striping inspired by the historic DAF race truck. It is equipped with a 350 kW (480 hp) electric driveline and a 525 kWh battery pack, providing a range of more than 500 kilometres on a single charge, depending on operating conditions.

Van Der Mierden Transport will use the truck primarily for milk collection, an application well suited to electric operation. The company said the vehicle reflects its focus on combining sustainability, operational practicality and distinctive design.
