Beesd, Netherlands- Van Eck Trailers B.V., an advanced air-cargo semi-trailers manufacturer, has announced a 13-unit trailer investment from Wattaul Air Cargo GmbH, an air-cargo feeder and logistics providers. Deliveries are planned in phases across 2025 and 2026, reinforcing a long-standing partnership built on trust, technical capability, and a shared focus on efficiency and sustainability in air-cargo transport.
The fleet order includes a tailored mix designed for airport-linked operations and high-value logistics seven plywood-box trailers for secure consolidated cargo, four curtainsider trailers for mixed and general freight, and two FNA-certified temperature-controlled units from Van Eck’s proven Eckspress Series. This combination is intended to maximise Wattaul’s operational flexibility across its European network serving major airport hubs.
Developed in close cooperation with air-cargo professionals, the Eckspress Series is engineered for reliable ground-handling performance. It features robust chassis and superstructure construction for long-term durability, configuration options such as FNA, FRC and Pharma for temperature-controlled and sensitive cargo (with optional security features aligned to TAPA TRS requirements), and drive-assisted pallet handling via Van Eck’s in-house Eck Rollerbed System to speed up loading and unloading while improving ergonomics.
Safety and usability are also central to the design, with features including an emergency brake, roller control unit, integrated pallet stoppers, and optional working and roof lighting. Together, these elements help operators maintain high utilisation and fleet readiness in time-critical air-cargo operations.
