Eindhoven, Nederland- VDL Bus Group debuts the all-new Futura 3 and unites VDL Bus & Coach with VDL Van Hool under one company. At Busworld 2025 in Brussels, from 4 to 9 October, the group will showcase its new direction under the banner MOVE.TOGETHER.
The world premiere of the third-generation VDL Futura marks a milestone in long-distance passenger transport. With up to 15% lower fuel consumption, the Futura 3 reduces lifecycle costs while offering a completely new interior concept for enhanced passenger comfort and ergonomics. Drivers benefit from an optimised cockpit with improved visibility, intuitive controls, and digital support, while the updated exterior improves aerodynamics and strengthens brand identity. Advanced safety systems meet the latest European GSR standards, and its modular powertrain design ensures readiness for future technologies.
By uniting VDL Bus & Coach and VDL Van Hool, VDL Bus Group combines two strong brands, each with its own identity and market focus. Production is strategically organised: the VDL Citea city buses in Roeselare, Belgium; VDL Futura coaches in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands; and Van Hool coaches in Macedonia, where efficiency and craftsmanship go hand in hand.
At Busworld 2025, VDL Bus Group will display five vehicles: two VDL Futura 3 coaches, a VDL Citea 13.5-metre Low Entry bus, a Van Hool Astron super high-decker, and a Van Hool Astromega double-decker, highlighting its strength across both public transport and coach markets.
