Pune- VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., a manufacturer of commercial vehicles, announced today that it recorded sales of 6,289 units in May 2023, marking a growth of 11.6% compared to the same period last year. The sales figures include 6,076 units of the Eicher brand and 213 units of the Volvo brand.
The Eicher brand, comprising trucks and buses, witnessed a notable increase in sales with 6,076 units sold in May 2023, reflecting a growth of 10.4% compared to May 2022, when 5,504 units were sold.
Within the domestic commercial vehicle market, Eicher branded trucks and buses performed, recording sales of 5,826 units in May 2023. This represents a growth rate of 15.8% compared to May 2022 when 5,033 units were sold.
However, the exports front experienced a decline in sales for Eicher branded trucks and buses. In May 2023, only 250 units were sold, indicating a significant drop of 46.9% compared to May 2022, when 471 units were sold.
On the other hand, Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses, part of VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., witnessed a substantial growth in sales. In May 2023, the company sold 213 units of Volvo brand vehicles, marking a growth of 60.2% compared to May 2022, when 133 units were sold.
