Truck featuring dual LNG tanks, boasts an impressive range of up to 1,100 km. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, ceremonially launched the first batch at the newly opened BLNG station in Nagpur.
Date: August 27, 2024Mumbai- VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) Limited., has signed an MOU with Baidyanath LNG Private Limited., to deploy 500 Eicher Pro 6055 LNG trucks. The initiative was launched with a flag-off ceremony by Minister Nitin Gadkari at the new Baidyanath LNG station in Nagpur. This partnership aims to expand LNG stations across Central India, promoting greener trucking routes and advancing the shift to cleaner fuels in long-haul transport.
Mr. Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of VECV, said, the importance of LNG as a crucial fuel for sustainable long-haul transportation and expressed confidence in the partnership with Baidyanath LNG. He noted that introducing these state-of-the-art vehicles will encourage transporters in Maharashtra to view LNG as a viable and eco-friendly alternative.
The Eicher Pro 6055 LNG truck is equipped with a VEGX8 6-cylinder engine, featuring Volvo Group’s globally proven technology. This engine delivers 260 HP at 2200 rpm and 1000 Nm of torque between 1100-1800 rpm, ensuring strong performance. Designed for long-haul efficiency, the truck offers a range of up to 1100 kilometers with dual tanks, along with best-in-class fuel tank safety and protection against fuel theft.
Mr. Gagandeep Singh Gandhok, EVP of HD Trucks - Sales and Marketing at VECV, said, the truck features advanced telematics solutions linked to an industry-first uptime center, offering remote and predictive diagnostics to enhance the customer experience.
