Brussels, Belgium- VinFast Auto Ltd., has unveiled its new EB 8 and EB 12 electric bus models at Busworld Europe 2025, marking a significant step in the Vietnamese automaker’s mission to make electric mobility accessible to all. With these two intelligent and eco-friendly public transport solutions, VinFast expands its reach beyond private passenger vehicles and into the public transportation sector.
The 12-metre EB 12, a full-size city bus, already meets UNECE and CE standards and is available for order in Europe, while the smaller 8-metre EB 8 will follow soon. Both models come with an industry-leading, comprehensive unlimited-mileage warranty.
The EB 8 and EB 12 are engineered to balance performance, range, passenger comfort, cost efficiency, and safety. Built with VinFast’s smart technology and experience in electric vehicles, both buses feature advanced safety and driver assistance systems to ensure smooth, secure operation for passengers, drivers, and other road users.
The EB 8 is designed for city environments, combining agility with efficiency. Measuring 8,610 x 2,470 x 3,220 mm, it’s powered by a central electric motor producing up to 200 kW and a top speed of 80 km/h.
A 359 kWh battery provides an operational range exceeding 290 km per charge, more than sufficient for a typical day’s route. Fast charging at up to 120 kW minimizes downtime and maximizes route flexibility.
The EB 8 accommodates up to 60 passengers (24 seated, one wheelchair space, 35 standing) and includes an electric wheelchair ramp and dedicated wheelchair area. Comfort and accessibility are enhanced by automatic climate control and a full air suspension system.
Standard safety features include ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, and Hill-Start Assist, ensuring confidence and stability in all driving conditions.
The EB 12 is a 12,110 mm-long low-floor city bus with three doors for efficient passenger flow. It can carry up to 90 passengers (35 seated, one wheelchair space, 54 standing) and can be customized to meet operator needs.
Twin 125 kW wheelhub motors deliver a combined 250 kW output and a top speed of 80 km/h. Its 422 kWh battery, enhanced by regenerative braking, provides a range exceeding 400 km per charge and supports 140 kW fast charging via CCS2.
The EB 12 offers premium comfort with dual-zone automatic climate control, a high-efficiency heat pump, 26 USB ports, and front and rear air suspension. A wheelchair ramp, LED cabin lighting, and a spacious, accessible layout further enhance the passenger experience.
Safety and assistance systems include ABS, EBD, BA, TCS, HSA, and a comprehensive suite of ADAS technologies such as Driver Drowsiness Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Collision Warnings, and Intelligent Speed Assistance. Additional protections include an automatic fire suppression system and CCTV surveillance.
Both models are backed by a 5-year unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty, with the battery and anti-corrosion protection covered for 8 years—also with no mileage limit.
The EB 12 will be produced at VinFast’s state-of-the-art facility in Vietnam, with an annual capacity of 1,500–2,000 units. Deliveries and commercial operations are scheduled to begin in 2026.
VinFast plans to establish strategic partnerships across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, and Central and Eastern Europe to distribute its eBuses, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable public transport.
Ms. Lê Thị Thu Thủy, Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup and Chairwoman of VinFast, said, “VinFast was founded with the aspiration of democratizing electric mobility. Through our comprehensive ecosystem—from personal EVs to public transport—we are ready to collaborate with communities worldwide. Our electric buses combine modern design, high performance, and passenger comfort, contributing to a greener and safer transportation future for all.”
