Date: August 28, 2024Germany- Volkswagen AG, an automobile manufacturer has announced a partnership with AirConsole to introduce in-car gaming to a selection of VW models, including the ID.7, ID.5, ID.4, ID.3, Passat, Tiguan, Golf, and Golf Estate. the gaming platform, designed for both drivers and passengers will be available in several Volkswagen vehicles this fall, featuring solo or multiplayer gaming while the vehicle is parked.
Volkswagen is enhancing in-car entertainment by integrating the AirConsole gaming platform. This innovation transforms the vehicle's infotainment screen into a game console, using smartphones as controllers. The integration is aimed at providing enjoyable entertainment during charging stops or breaks. The initial launch will start in Europe by mid-September, with additional games and broader availability in more European countries expected by the end of 2024.
Passengers in the ID.7 model and other model vehicles can play together via their smartphones, making the in-car experience more social and interactive. By opening the AirConsole app and scanning the QR code displayed on the screen, users can quickly connect their devices. This setup allows for a seamless multiplayer experience, enabling even rear passengers to join in on the fun during stops.
