Wolfsburg, Germany- Volkswagen., has unveiled the new ID. Tiguan, an all-electric mid-size SUV scheduled to launch in early 2027. The new model will succeed the ID.4 and ID.5, combining a redesigned exterior with an upgraded interior and advanced digital features.
The Volkswagen ID. Tiguan will be available with three powertrain options. The entry-level rear-wheel-drive version produces 190 PS and features a 58 kWh battery. A second rear-wheel-drive variant delivers 286 PS with a 77 kWh battery, while the top-spec 4MOTION all-wheel-drive version produces 299 PS and also uses a 77 kWh battery.
Depending on the battery and powertrain configuration, the electric SUV will offer a WLTP driving range of up to 600 km. Its towing capacity will reach 1,800 kg with the 58 kWh battery and 2,000 kg with the 77 kWh battery. The model also features a 32-litre front storage compartment and a luggage compartment offering up to 534 litres of space.
Inside, the ID. Tiguan introduces a redesigned cockpit with a 10-inch digital instrument display and a 15-inch central infotainment screen. For the first time in a European Volkswagen model, a 12-inch passenger display will also be available, allowing front passengers to access entertainment and information without distracting the driver.
Volkswagen has incorporated customer feedback into the vehicle's development, focusing on improved materials, intuitive controls and enhanced everyday practicality. The SUV will be offered in four equipment grades: Trend, Life, Style and R-Line.
The new ID. Tiguan will be produced in Emden, Germany, and launched in early 2027 alongside the existing Volkswagen Tiguan with petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains. With its extended driving range, improved interior technology and increased practicality, the new electric SUV will strengthen Volkswagen's electric vehicle lineup in Europe.
