Panama City, Florida – Volt Industrial Equipment., a construction equipment manufacturer, has introduced the EV-X2 electric mini excavator, a low-cost, direct-to-consumer alternative designed to make electric construction equipment more accessible in the U.S. market.
The 2-ton EV-X2 is powered by a 28-kilowatt system and a 400-amp CATL battery, delivering 6–10 hours of runtime per charge. It recharges in six to seven hours on a standard 240-volt outlet. Designed in the U.S. and manufactured in China, the excavator integrates U.S.-installed electrification components.
The machine is tailored for urban construction, landscaping, and indoor projects, offering quiet operation, low maintenance, and zero emissions. Buyers can choose between an open canopy or enclosed cab, with an optional remote-control feature for use in hazardous environments.
Volt has partnered with Beam (solar charging stations) and Spark Charge (mobile charging solutions) to support remote operations. Units are shipped directly from Volt’s Panama City, Florida warehouse, bypassing traditional dealer networks.
The EV-X2 is backed by a 5-year, 5,000-hour warranty. Service for electrified components is provided through Greentec Auto, which operates more than 40 service locations across the U.S. Replacement parts for key electrification systems are sourced from U.S.-based suppliers, ensuring reliability and availability.
With this launch, Volt aims to remove long-standing obstacles in the U.S. electric equipment market by offering an affordable, flexible, and reliable compact excavator that reduces emissions and operating costs
