Volvo Buses to Deliver 76 Euro 6 Double-Deckers to RTA Dubai

Gothenburg, Sweden- Volvo Buses., a provider of sustainable passenger transport solutions, in partnership with Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company (FAMCO), has secured a major contract with Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) to supply 76 Volvo B13RLE double-decker buses. This order marks the first introduction of the Volvo B13R Euro 6 chassis in Dubai and reinforces Volvo’s strong presence in the UAE and the broader Middle East.

The agreement includes not only the supply of the buses but also a comprehensive 10-year maintenance contract, ensuring long-term reliability and performance for RTA’s expanding fleet. This success in a competitive tender process highlights the effective collaboration between Volvo Buses and FAMCO.

Scheduled for delivery in 2026, the Volvo B13RLE 6x2 Euro 6 buses will be built by Gemilang Coachworks, known for their lightweight aluminium bodies. These new double-deckers will come equipped with state-of-the-art Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)—including real-time tracking, automated passenger updates, traffic integration, and predictive maintenance systems.

With a fresh new design inside and out, the buses are engineered to enhance passenger experience, driver comfort, safety, and operational efficiency, reflecting Volvo Buses’ commitment to innovation, sustainability, and superior quality in public transport solutions.
