Eskilstuna, Sweden - Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE)., a construction equipment manufacturer, has launched the EC950 High Reach, the largest high-reach excavator in its lineup, built for safe, efficient multi-story demolition. It joins the EC400, EC500, and EC750 High Reach models, addressing the growing demand for purpose-built machines for controlled dismantling.
Weighing over 400,000 pounds and reaching heights of 161 feet with a 7,500-lb. tool, the EC950 combines size, strength, and intelligent design for challenging demolition projects. Its modular boom and arm design, removable counterweight, and detachable side tracks simplify transportation and allow on-site configuration for different applications.
The machine delivers exceptional stability with a reinforced undercarriage, purpose-built upper frame, and specially designed ring gear, meeting Volvo Ultra High Reach standards. Safety features include a tilting cab with 30° visibility, the Volvo Total Moment Indicator (TMI), Smart View cameras, polycarbonate windows, and falling object guards.
Operator comfort is enhanced with an ergonomic adjustable seat, intuitive controls, noise reduction, and integrated heating and air conditioning. An integrated dust suppression and cleaning system improves site cleanliness and machine longevity. The EC950 High Reach is supported by Volvo CE North America’s dealer network for parts and service.
