Gothenburg, Sweden- Volvo Trucks has delivered 125 units of its new VNL model to Highlight Motor Group in Canada, marking the largest Canadian order to date for Volvo’s latest flagship truck. The trucks Volvo VNL 860s will expand Highlight Motor Group’s existing fleet, supporting its long-haul operations across North America.
Safety and driver comfort were key factors behind Highlight’s purchase, especially as the trucking industry continues to face driver recruitment and retention challenges. The company maintains one of the youngest fleets in the sector by refreshing vehicles every four to five years, and most of its fleet is made up of Volvo trucks.

Volvo said the all-new VNL for long-haul applications was engineered to deliver improved fuel efficiency, offering up to a 10% gain compared with the previous model through aerodynamic updates and powertrain refinements. The truck also includes hundreds of enhancements aimed at boosting productivity, profitability, safety, and sustainability for fleets, while improving the overall driver experience with design changes intended to make long-haul life more comfortable.
Key safety technologies on the Volvo VNL 860 include Volvo Active Driver Assist Plus, lane keep support, pedestrian detection, and automated emergency braking.
