Gothenburg, Sweden – Volvo Car Corporation., a car manufacturer, has introduced the Black Edition of its award-winning, all-electric EX30, giving the popular compact SUV a sharper, more dramatic appearance. The new variant is available to order in the UK now across Single Motor Extended Range and Twin Motor Performance powertrains.
Black Edition styling is highlighted by high-gloss black 19-inch wheels and tinted rear windows, alongside blacked-out exterior details such as the grille strikethrough, iron mark, rear Volvo script and model badge. The look is completed with colour-matched roof spoiler and door mirror covers.
The EX30 Black Edition is offered in a single exterior shade, Onyx Black, paired with an exclusive Indigo interior. The metallic paint is designed to sparkle in bright light while appearing more refined in low light. Inside, the cabin features a sporty deep-blue theme with studio-inspired textile materials and upcycled denim trim, unique to this edition.
From the Single Motor Plus grade, the EX30 Black Edition comes equipped with Volvo’s advanced sensing suite up to five radars, five cameras and twelve ultrasonic sensors supporting the driver by monitoring the surroundings. Key features also include adaptive cruise control and a powered tailgate for added convenience.
In Single Motor Extended Range form, the EX30 offers up to 295.2 miles (combined) of range and can sprint from 0–62 mph in 5.3 seconds. A heat pump is fitted as standard to help maximise efficiency and driving range between charges. Cabin tech includes air-quality measurement with remote cabin air pre-cleaning and a 12.3-inch central display, along with a wide suite of driver assistance systems.
Following the Black Edition debut on the XC60 in 2023, the EX30 becomes the latest addition to Volvo’s growing Black Edition line-up, which now includes XC90, XC60, XC40, EX40, EC40 and EX30. With the EX30 ranking as the UK’s 10th best-selling BEV in 2025, Volvo expects the Black Edition’s bold styling to further strengthen its appeal.
Mr. Rob Deane, Commercial Operations Director, Volvo Car UK, said “The Black Edition treatment has resonated strongly with customers, and that the EX30 looks especially striking with the new design elements. The Black Edition will be available in Plus and Ultra trims across the Single Motor Extended Range and Twin Motor Performance variants.”
