Volvo Unveils FL 4x4 Off-Road Truck

Gothenburg, Sweden- AB Volvo – Volvo Trucks has expanded its medium-duty range with the all-new Volvo FL 4x4, purpose-built for challenging off-road conditions. Based on the compact and nimble Volvo FL, this upgraded 4x4 model delivers superior traction and maneuverability, making it ideal for demanding environments.

Mr. Jan Hjelmgren, Head of Product Management at Volvo Trucks, said, “This compact, agile, and easy-to-maneuver 4x4 truck provides access to remote areas in challenging conditions – a workhorse built with a clear purpose.”

The Volvo FL 4x4 features new front and rear axles, optimized axle ratios for the all-wheel-drive system, single tires, generous ground clearance, and a robust exterior. These enhancements make it ideal not only for construction but also for rescue, firefighting, energy and power supply, and defense applications.

Cab options include a day cab for two occupants and a crew cab for six. Optional equipment such as a winch, bullbar, headlight protection, and transfer gearbox reinforcement is available for extreme off-road use.

Powered by Volvo’s efficient 8-liter diesel engine, the FL 4x4 can be ordered through Volvo Trucks’ standard sales channels, with production scheduled to begin in November 2025.
