Bengaluru - VST Tillers Tractors Ltd., a power tillers and tractors manufacturer, is set to make its debut in the electric farming segment in FY26 with the launch of its first fully electric power tiller and power weeder. This marks a significant step in the company's drive toward sustainable and smart agriculture, aiming to serve the evolving needs of small and marginal farmers while addressing global shifts toward clean energy.

The new electric range is the result of a three-year collaboration with U.S.-based Monarch Tractor, known for its innovations in electric and autonomous farming. During this period, VST supplied drivetrain components for Monarch’s tractors, an experience that has equipped VST with the technical foundation to develop its own electric solutions for both domestic and international markets.

Designed for practical on-field use, VST’s electric tiller and weeder will feature fast-charging capabilities, achieving a 70-80% charge in just 30-40 minutes. While swappable batteries will be offered as an option, the company is not making them central to the design, prioritizing reliability and ease of use.

While India remains VST’s primary focus, the company also plans to export its electric models to Europe and other regions where sustainable farm mechanization is gaining traction. VST's strong domestic performance supports its expansion plans, FY25 saw power tiller sales rise to 37,297 units from 36,480 in FY24, while weeder sales jumped to 7,458 from 4,567.

As it enters the electric space, VST aims to stand apart from early players like the Murugappa Group by offering a blend of practical runtime, rapid charging, and a farmer-first approach. This move is part of the company’s broader mission to modernize small-scale farming and lead India’s shift toward clean, tech-driven agriculture.
