Cincinnati, United States- Workhorse Group Inc., an electric vehicle manufacturer, has secured orders from three parcel delivery service providers for its W56 electric step vans. The orders, received within 30 days of Workhorse’s participation at the FedEx Forward Service Provider Summit, include seven W56 trucks with both the standard 178” wheelbase (1,000 cubic feet of cargo space) and the extended 208” wheelbase (1,200 cubic feet). All vehicles are set for delivery by year-end.

Amid rising fleet interest, Workhorse had an active third quarter, conducting demos at parcel delivery depots across California, where FedEx has installed EV charging systems. Additional truck orders are in the quoting stage, with fleet operators viewing the W56 as a reliable, zero-emission solution for urban, rural, and high-capacity routes.

Mr. Ryan Gaul, President of Commercial Vehicles at Workhorse, said, “As parcel delivery fleets transition to zero-emission vehicles, we believe the W56 is an ideal fit. We understand the importance of uptime for parcel operators, especially during the busy holiday season. That’s why we back our vehicles with a robust service and support network through our certified dealers and national service partners, which helps keep trucks on the road and deliveries on time. Our W56 models are built for the real-world demands of last-mile delivery, offering effective range, cargo capacity flexibility, durability, and reliability in every configuration.”

Built at Workhorse's Union City, Indiana facility, the W56 step van offers fleet operators tailored options and dependable support for electrification. With models offering 1,000 to 1,200 cubic feet of cargo space, the W56 combines efficient eAxle technology, regenerative braking, and extended range, making it an ideal, cost-effective, and eco-friendly solution for last-mile delivery.
