North Maluku, Indonesia - XCMG Machinery, a construction machinery manufacturer, has commenced production at its Indonesia New Energy Manufacturing Base at the Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP), marking the company’s first overseas factory dedicated to new energy equipment.
The facility was inaugurated on July 27, with the first batch of new energy machinery delivered to strategic partner Tsingshan Holding Group’s IWIP. The plant integrates equipment manufacturing, localized research and development, and after-sales services to support demand from Indonesia’s mining, infrastructure and industrial logistics sectors.
The facility further expands XCMG’s established presence in Indonesia, where the company supports more than 30,000 machines through its sales and service network, over 100 specialized service vehicles, and a three-tier spare parts and maintenance system.
With the new plant operational, XCMG has developed an integrated local ecosystem covering research and development, manufacturing, supply chain, sales and services. Nearly 80% of its workforce in Indonesia consists of local employees, supporting the company’s localization and skills-development strategy.
The locally produced electric construction equipment is expected to support Indonesia’s transition toward lower-carbon mining, infrastructure and industrial operations while strengthening XCMG’s manufacturing presence in Southeast Asia.
