California, USA - Yamaha Agriculture, Inc., a subsidiary of Yamaha Motor and agriculture machinery company, has introduced a new herbicide attachment for its Prospr autonomous hybrid vehicle platform, developed and manufactured by Croplands Equipment. Designed for orchards and vineyards, the attachment enables automated weed-control application with improved precision, efficiency and consistency.
The new system expands Prospr’s modular capabilities, allowing growers to switch tools quickly and automate more tasks during the growing cycle. Key features include automated nozzle activation, tank agitation, liquid level sensing, real-time rate adjustment based on vehicle speed, mechanical breakaway boom arms and flexible chemical management through tank mixing or inline dosing.
The attachment integrates with Yamaha Agriculture’s management and planning interface, including its multi-vehicle remote system, enabling operators to supervise multiple autonomous vehicles from one platform.
Prospr is already used in orchards and vineyards across the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Its hybrid diesel-electric system offers up to 40 hours of runtime and can reduce fuel consumption by up to 70%, while supporting precision spraying, remote diagnostics, OTA updates and multi-vehicle autonomous operations.
