Malaysia- Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd has officially launched the 2025 MT 15 in Malaysia, introducing MT-15, a bike that truly embodies the "Spirit of Darkness." Developed from pure MT DNA, this agile, lightweight streetfighter is the perfect entry into the thrilling world of naked bike motorcycling. Compact, aggressive, and packed with high-tech features, the MT-15 is designed for riders who crave performance and style in every ride.
The MT-15 is a visual stunner. Its mass-forward body design, twin-eye LED position lights, and compact central LED headlight give it a commanding street presence and a fierce, ready-to-attack look. The upright motard-style riding position not only adds to the aggressive appeal but also ensures unmatched comfort and control, especially in city traffic.
Yamaha has equipped the MT-15 with advanced features that enhance performance and rider experience:
- Negative LCD Meter Panel: Displays real-time ride data in a clear, easy-to-read format.
- Inverted Front Forks: Paired with a cast aluminium upper triple clamp, these provide exceptional stability and sharp cornering.
- Assist and Slipper (A&S) Clutch: Offers a light clutch pull and smooth downshifting, reducing rider fatigue and enhancing ride comfort.
Yamaha MT-15 is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled, SOHC, 4-valve engine that delivers a maximum power of 19.3 PS at 10,000 rpm and peak torque of 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm. It features a smooth-shifting 6-speed constant mesh transmission, designed for responsive city and highway riding. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic front fork offering 130mm of travel, and a rear swingarm with 125mm of travel, ensuring stability and comfort across varying road conditions. The MT-15 rides on a 110/70-17 M/C 54S tubeless front tyre and a wider 140/70-17 M/C 66S tubeless rear tyre, providing excellent road grip and cornering control. Braking is managed by hydraulic disc brakes at both the front and rear. With a wheelbase of 1,335 mm and a seat height of 810 mm, the bike strikes a balance between agility and comfort. It also features a 10-liter fuel tank and has a wet weight of 133 kg, making it light and nimble for everyday commuting and spirited riding.
