      Yutong E-Truck Set for UK Launch in 2025

      Henan Province, China- Zhengzhou Yutong Group Co., Ltd., a manufactures commercial vehicle, including trucks, buses, and construction equipment is set to expand its presence in the UK commercial vehicle market with the introduction of the Yutong T75e, a new battery-powered 7.5-tonne truck. Scheduled for launch in the second quarter of 2025, the T75e aims to offer a sustainable and efficient transport solution for businesses looking to transition to zero-emission operations.

      The T75e will be available with two battery options: a 100kW version and a 132kW version, the latter boasting a range of more than 180 miles on a single charge. Designed with versatility in mind, the truck features an unladen chassis-cab weight of under 3,000kg, making it compatible with a variety of body types, including box, tipper, curtain side, compaction, and insulated bodies. Additionally, it offers three different electric Power Take-Off (ePTO) options, enhancing its adaptability for different operational needs.

      Pelican Engineering Group, the exclusive distributor of Yutong city buses and coaches in the UK, will handle the sales and servicing of the new T75e. Having already facilitated the sale of over 1,500 Yutong buses and coaches in the UK and Ireland—800 of which are battery-electric—Pelican is well-positioned to support the rollout of the new truck.

      Mr. Richard Crump, Managing Director at Pelican Engineering, said, “We believe the 7.5-tonne sector is the easiest sector to electrify, and the Yutong truck chassis, combined with our cost-effective charger and battery storage solution provided by Pelican AEAUTO, brings operators a readymade solution for their zero-emission needs.”

      Pelican plans to service and maintain the new vehicles through a network of strategically located vehicle management units, backed by the expertise of its Castleford head office team. This commitment ensures that operators will receive reliable support and maintenance for their electric fleets.

      The introduction of the Yutong T75e represents a significant step forward in the UK’s journey towards sustainable commercial transport. By leveraging its experience in the electric bus and coach market, Yutong is poised to make a substantial impact on the 7.5-tonne truck sector, offering operators an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional diesel-powered vehicles.
