Haryana - Zelio Auto Pvt Ltd., an electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has launched first e-rickshaw models, Tanga Butterfly and Tanga SS. The models were previously showcased at the EV India Expo 2024 in New Delhi.
The Tanga Butterfly, made from mild steel, and the Tanga SS, made from stainless steel, are ZELIO's first e-rickshaws for urban and semi-urban commuters, addressing India’s last-mile connectivity needs. Both models feature a top speed of 30 km/h, a 100 km range, and are powered by a 1200W motor with a 48/60V 135Ah Eastman battery. They take around eight hours to fully charge and include voltage fluctuation protection. The Tanga Butterfly comes in five colors, while the Tanga SS is available in five different options.

The Tanga Butterfly and Tanga SS e-rickshaws offer advanced safety with drum brakes, telescopic hydraulic front suspension, and leaf spring rear suspension. They feature a high-rigidity monocoque frame, 2030 mm wheelbase, and TVS 3.75-12 mm tires, ensuring durability and comfort for urban and semi-urban roads.
The Tanga Butterfly and Tanga SS e-rickshaws feature a wide front glass with wiper, LED headlamps, digital meter, FM radio, and central locking, along with essential accessories like a fire extinguisher and first aid kit.
