Alicante, Spain- Zenobē Energy Limited., has signed a strategic agreement with Corporación Empresarial Vectalia, S.A., to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission bus fleets in Spain and support the transition toward more sustainable public transport.

The agreement, signed in Alicante, includes operating leases of up to €120 million over the next three years. The funding will support fleet renewal with electric buses, as well as the electrification of key infrastructure, including depots. According to Zenobē, this is the largest transaction of its kind structured by the company in Spain and Europe to date.

Through this partnership, Vectalia will gain access to a complete electrification solution covering electric vehicle leasing, charging infrastructure and specialised technical support. The collaboration will help the company move faster toward its decarbonisation targets while improving operational efficiency.

As part of the agreement, Zenobē and Vectalia have also signed a framework agreement for battery management. Under this arrangement, Zenobē will assume battery-related risks and provide monitoring services for battery health and degradation, helping reduce operational risk for Vectalia.

The agreement will also support Vectalia’s wider strategy to build a cleaner and more efficient mobility model aligned with environmental requirements and the needs of cities and passengers. By introducing more electric buses and depot charging infrastructure, the company aims to reduce the environmental impact of public transport.

Mr. Martín Navarro, Zenobē’s Director for Iberia, said the combination of long-term financing and specialised technical support will allow Vectalia to accelerate fleet electrification and progress toward its sustainability goals while offering cleaner and more efficient transport services.

Mr. Antonio Agudo, CFO of Vectalia, said the agreement reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility and its passengers. He added that the framework leasing agreement will help speed up the electrification of both fleets and depots, directly contributing to emission reduction and more innovative public transport.

The operating lease framework forms part of Zenobē’s wider value proposition as a strategic and operational partner for heavy-duty transport decarbonisation. Its solutions include electric bus and truck leasing, depot electrification through Charging as a Service, energy management, load optimisation, and infrastructure operation and maintenance.

With this agreement, Zenobē strengthens its presence in the Spanish market, while Vectalia continues to advance its innovation and sustainability strategy toward cleaner, more efficient and future-ready mobility.
