Baden-Württemberg,Germany- Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen AG (ZF)., will showcase its latest technologies for decarbonized, safer, and connected public transportation, in Busworld Trade Show in Istanbul from May 29 to 31. Its Highlights include the AxTrax 2 LF electric axle for low-floor city buses, new ADAS solutions like OnHand EPH, advanced Collision Mitigation System (CMS), live demos of Bus Connect for digital fleet management, and featuring the SCALAR fleet orchestration platform.
Introducing its AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axle for low-floor city buses in Turkey, marking a milestone in the country's commercial vehicle industry. This advanced axle, part of ZF's modular e-mobility, a powerful electric motor and 800V silicon carbide inverter, providing up to 360 kW continuous output and 37,300 Nm peak torque.
It offers a 20% climbing ability for buses weighing up to 29 tonnes and 10% energy savings compared to Previous. Enhanced performance, it maintains a compact design, maximizing passenger space, and is fully compatible with ZF's air suspension and braking systems. Scheduled for series production in 2025, AxTrax 2 LF also features advanced software for axle condition monitoring and cybersecurity.
The OnHand Electro-Pneumatic Handbrake by ZF enhances vehicle safety and driver comfort, while also serves as building-block technology for autonomous driving.
ZF's Collision Mitigation System (CMS) for City Buses is a smart braking system showcased at the event. It actively detects vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians in - or entering - the path of the vehicle. In the event of performing an emergency stop, the sophisticated CMS system brings the bus to a halt while protecting unsecured passengers onboard.
SCALAR a fleet orchestration platform, optimizing transport planning for public managers with real-time, AI-driven decision-making. SCALAR EVO Flow integrates with vehicle peripherals to harness data for fleet optimization. Also on display is Bus Connect, ZF's digital fleet management solution, enhancing safety, cost savings, and operational efficiency through data insights.
