Tianjin, China – Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese agricultural machinery manufacturer, has unveiled its new 9DX hybrid tractor at the China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition (CIAME) 2026. Featuring a claimed 1,600 HP peak power output, 7,200 Nm maximum torque, an 800V dual-motor hybrid system, and a four-track drive configuration, the tractor is designed for large-scale agricultural operations. Zoomlion claims the 9DX is the world's most powerful tractor, surpassing the John Deere 9RX 830's published maximum engine output of 913 HP.
The Zoomlion 9DX features an advanced hybrid continuously variable transmission (CVT), designed to deliver powerful performance and improved operating efficiency. The tractor can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h and handle slopes exceeding 12 degrees, making it suitable for heavy-duty farming applications, including large-scale cultivation, tillage, and seeding.
Equipped with a 636 L/min high-capacity hydraulic system, the tractor supports large agricultural implements. Its independently developed four-track drive system, featuring 762 mm-wide rubber tracks, improves traction and stability while helping reduce soil compaction during intensive field operations.
While Zoomlion has disclosed several key performance specifications, details regarding the combustion engine, operating weight, commercial pricing, and production timeline remain unannounced. The claimed hybrid-system peak output and John Deere's maximum diesel-engine output are not directly comparable power measurements.
The unveiling marks a significant advancement in global agricultural machinery technology, highlighting China's growing capabilities in high-horsepower tractors and the increasing adoption of hybrid powertrains. The Zoomlion 9DX could set new expectations for productivity, efficiency, and innovation in large-scale farming equipment.
