Zweegers Equipment Appoints New Managing Director

Eindhoven, Netherlands – Zweegers Equipment Group (ZWEQ)., an agricultural machinery and equipment supplier, has appointed Ronald Slaats as Group Managing Director, effective 1 August 2025. His appointment strengthens the company’s leadership team and marks a new phase of growth.

In his new role, Slaats will oversee the daily management of the group and report directly to Gerrit van der Scheer, who assumes the position of Executive Chairman of the Management Board. Van der Scheer will focus on strategy and expansion through acquisitions.

Slaats previously served as CEO of Mechan International, a ZWEQ subsidiary, where he led international expansion into Canada and Italy, integrating AgWest in Canada and acquiring Agri Verde and Busato in Italy. He also consolidated operations in Northern Italy.

Mr. Van der Scheer, Executive Chairman, said, “With his broad international experience, strong sector network, and strong supplier relationships, Ronald is the right person to lead ZWEQ into its next phase.”

Before joining Mechan International, Slaats held executive roles including CEO of De Meeuw Group and CEO of De Lage Landen International.
