Atlanta, United States- Mercedes-Benz Group AG., an automobile manufacturer, distributes its passenger vehicles in the U.S. through Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA). Mercedes-Maybach is redefining the world of luxury convertibles with the debut of the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series an open-top two-seater that blends sophisticated craftsmanship with thrilling performance. As the sportiest model in the history of the Maybach brand, this stunning roadster offers a new level of exclusivity, refinement, and driving exhilaration. Expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships in late 2025, it promises a holistic sensory experience that embodies the Maybach philosophy.

Buyers can choose from two specially curated design concepts: "White Ambience" and "Red Ambience." White Ambience pairs Obsidian Black Metallic with MANUFAKTUR Moonlight White Magno in a serene and elegant contrast. Red Ambience, meanwhile, introduces a vibrant new MANUFAKTUR Garnet Red Metallic, creating a rich and dynamic look against the Obsidian Black upper section. Both versions feature interiors wrapped in sustainably tanned MANUFAKTUR Crystal White Nappa leather, enhanced by a delicate floral motif on the seats, door panels, and center console. Silver chrome trim and lowered seat side panels add both elegance and ease of use.

Beyond the two launch designs, Mercedes-Maybach offers more than 50 MANUFAKTUR Exclusive paint colors to allow deep personalization. These include tones inspired by gemstones, minerals, and classic Maybach and Mercedes hues from historical paint archives. Contemporary influences from architecture, fashion, and design trends further expand the customization possibilities.

The exterior design of the SL 680 Monogram Series features an A-shaped Maybach grille with fine vertical chrome slats, illuminated details, and Maybach lettering. This striking grille is flanked by rose gold accents in the headlights, a chrome-trimmed windshield frame, and integrated side sill panels. The rear profile carries a strong signature with Maybach-branded taillights, a bespoke rear fascia, a unique diffuser, and horizontally designed tailpipes. Double scoops behind the rear seats and a subtle anthracite Maybach pattern in the acoustic soft top add to the model’s elegance and sporty profile. The 21-inch forged Maybach wheels, offered in Monoblock or multi-spoke designs, complete the powerful stance.

Highlighting its commitment to innovation, Mercedes-Maybach has introduced the PixelPaint process for the hood of the SL 680. This state-of-the-art painting technique allows the Maybach pattern to be printed directly onto the Obsidian Black hood using a print head with over 1,000 individually controlled nozzles. Each nozzle dispenses microscopic drops of paint with extraordinary precision, eliminating the need for traditional masking or multiple coats. The result is a visually deep, flawless design completed with four clear coats—each hand-sanded to perfection.

Acoustic refinement remains a core Maybach value. To deliver a quiet, serene cabin experience, the SL 680 incorporates extensive sound insulation, including aluminum butyl layers and recyclable fiberglass muffler inserts. Combined with a specially designed exhaust system, these materials ensure whisper-quiet performance, even at higher speeds.

Under the hood, the SL 680 is powered by a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine, delivering 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a smooth-shifting 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and the 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive system, the car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in an estimated 4.0 seconds. Rear-axle steering enhances agility and maneuverability, while an advanced suspension system with active hydraulic roll stabilization ensures exceptional ride comfort. Maybach-specific damping valves and softer springs allow the suspension to respond more delicately to road imperfections.

Drivers can personalize their experience further through four driving modes: Comfort, Maybach, Sport, and Individual. Each mode adjusts throttle response, suspension settings, and overall ride character to suit different driving preferences—from spirited weekend drives to luxurious city cruising.

Complementing the vehicle, MAYBACH Icons of Luxury has released a limited-edition lifestyle collection inspired by the SL 680’s design language. Items include a leather jacket, scarf, sneakers, bag, and even a dog carrier each crafted with the same attention to detail and color coordination as the car itself.

With its blend of avant-garde design, technological innovation, and handcrafted excellence, the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series sets a new benchmark for ultra-luxury convertibles. It represents the pinnacle of open-air motoring—tailored for those who demand nothing but the best.

Mr. Daniel Lescow, Head of Mercedes‑Maybach, Mercedes‑Benz Group AG, said, "We want to surprise, inspire and excite our customers. With the Mercedes‑Maybach SL Monogram Series, we're offering them the sportiest and most extravagant model we've ever created. It's a true Maybach for the ultimate in open-air-motoring enjoyment."
