Haryana - Action Construction Equipment Limited., and Japan-based KATO Works., have formed ACE KATO, a 50:50 joint venture to manufacture high-capacity cranes in India for domestic and international markets. The joint venture will focus on producing truck cranes, crawler cranes and rough-terrain cranes for infrastructure, transportation, mining, ports, energy, metro rail and industrial applications.

ACE KATO has established an 11-acre manufacturing facility in Haryana, with a planned investment of approximately US$20.7 million (₹200 crore). The investment will support manufacturing infrastructure, advanced production systems, technology integration and product development. Further investments are planned in phases as the company expands its production capacity.

Under the partnership, KATO Works will lead product engineering, crane design and technology development, while ACE will manage manufacturing, sourcing and localisation. The venture combines KATO’s crane technology expertise with ACE’s manufacturing capabilities, supplier network and nationwide sales and service presence.

ACE KATO plans to progressively localise components through ACE’s domestic supplier ecosystem. The localisation strategy is expected to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce lead times, strengthen supply-chain resilience and optimise production costs.

The joint venture supports the “Made in India for the World” initiative and aims to strengthen India’s position in the global construction-equipment manufacturing and export market.
