Pune, India -Bajaj Auto Ltd., has launched the new Avenger Street 220 cruiser motorcycle in the Indian market. The latest model joins the Avenger lineup with a larger 220cc engine, practical upgrades and distinctive styling elements aimed at riders seeking a comfortable urban and highway cruising experience.
The Avenger Street 220 marks the return of the Street badge to the Avenger family following the discontinuation of the Avenger Street 160. The motorcycle combines cruiser styling with enhanced practicality and rider-friendly ergonomics.
One of the key highlights of the Avenger Street 220 is its tubeless alloy wheels, offering greater convenience compared to the wire-spoke wheels with tube-type tyres found on the Avenger Cruise 220. The motorcycle retains the same tyre setup, featuring 90-section front and 130-section rear tyres.
In terms of design, the Street 220 features a unique headlamp with a horizontal LED DRL positioned at the bottom. It also comes with fork gaiters, a compact wind deflector and an all-black finish for the engine and exhaust system, giving it a sportier appearance than the Cruise variant.
The motorcycle continues to offer a low seat height of 737 mm, making it accessible for a wide range of riders. It also features a flatter and lower handlebar setup, while the footpeg position remains unchanged from the Cruise model. The Avenger Street 220 has a kerb weight of 163 kg, which is 3 kg heavier than the Avenger Cruise 220.
Powering the motorcycle is a 220cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 19 hp and 17.5 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The Avenger Street 220 is available in two colour options: Ebony Black and Cocktail Wine Red.
