Shenzhen, China- Fang Cheng Bao (FCB)., a sub-brand of BYD, has unveiled the Tai 3, the first model in its new “Tai” hardcore series. Priced between 133,800 and 193,800 yuan the Tai 3 is an all-electric compact SUV available in five trims, offering both RWD and AWD configurations.
Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo+, the Tai 3 features a high-speed 20,000 RPM motor and iATS (Intelligent All-Terrain System), which automatically adapts to various terrains including grass, sand, mud, and snow. The TSC (Tire Stability Control) system enhances safety during a blowout by lifting the damaged wheel and allowing continued driving at up to 80 km/h for 30 km.
RWD: 160 kW (215 hp), 310 Nm torque, 0–100 km/h in 7.9 sec, 65.28 kWh Blade LFP battery
AWD: 110 kW front motor + 200 kW rear motor, total 268 hp and 510 Nm torque, 0–100 km/h in 4.9 sec, 72.96 or 78.72 kWh Blade LFP battery
Top speed across all variants is 201 km/h with a CLTC range of 501 km. Fast charging takes the battery from 30% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
The Tai 3 comes equipped with DiSus-C intelligent damping, akin to CDC adaptive suspension systems, offering improved ride comfort. Its “God’s Eye” C ADAS system includes 12 cameras, 5 millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, enabling over 30 intelligent functions like autopilot highway navigation, obstacle avoidance, and advanced parking assist.
A highlight is the optional Lingyuan vehicle-mounted drone system, developed with DJI. Integrated into the roof, the drone launches automatically when stationary or driving below 25 km/h, and supports 4K dual-camera shooting with intelligent video editing.
The cabin adopts FCB’s design language with a floating 12.8- or 15.6-inch central display (based on trim) powered by the DiLink 100 cockpit system. It supports voice controls, OTA updates, and navigation. All models come with an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster and select trims offer a 12-inch head-up display.
Interior highlights of the Tai 3 include a chunky gear lever with physical controls, a 50W wireless charging pad, and a built-in refrigerator with a temperature range of -6℃ to 50℃. Comfort features include electrically adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats with a center armrest, and practical storage with a 151L front trunk and 28L rear external box.
Fang Cheng Bao Tai 3 Dimension measures 4605 x 1900 x 1720 mm with a 2745 mm wheelbase, while the drone-equipped variant stands taller at 1930 mm. It has a curb weight of 1995 kg, balancing robust build with all-terrain capability.
