BYD Introduces Compact ATTO 2 SUV In Europe

BYD’s ATTO 2 is a compact, affordable SUV with a 45.1 kWh battery offering 312 km of range, sleek design, and smart features. A larger-battery version will follow, with full specs available in February.

Brussels, Belgium- BYD., a manufacturer of new-energy vehicles, unveils the ATTO 2, its most affordable SUV in Europe, at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show. This compact, urban EV combines agile maneuverability with BYD’s iconic Blade Battery and advanced Cell-to-Body design. Packed with smart tech, premium finishes, and generous standard features, the ATTO 2 offers the SUV experience in a city-friendly, budget-conscious package. Perfectly complementing the larger ATTO 3, it’s designed for urban living without compromise.

The BYD ATTO 2 successfully mixes unmistakeable SUV design cues with compact dimensions. The The ATTO 2 measures 4,310mm long, 1,830mm wide, and 1,675mm tall, making it shorter and slimmer than the ATTO 3 while offering a spacious 2,620mm wheelbase. Its design blends SUV practicality with a sleek aesthetic: full-LED headlights, dynamic bumpers, and vertical air curtains define the front, while a ‘floating’ roofline, bold curves, and striking alloy wheels add energy to the profile. At the rear, a roof spoiler, full-width light bar, and unique ‘Chinese knot’ tail-lights enhance its sporty look. Available in Climbing Grey as standard, buyers can also choose Hiking Green, Skiing White, or Cosmos Black.

ATTO 2’s interior combines sleek design, premium materials, and smart technology with ample space. Clean lines define the fascia, while padded surfaces and integrated handles reinforce its SUV character. The center console features cup holders, a storage area, and a diamond-style drive selector, alongside hard keys for key functions and a driving mode switch. A panoramic glass roof brightens the cabin, which benefits from a flat floor for added rear-seat practicality. The boot offers 400 liters of storage, expanding to 1,340 liters with the rear seats folded. Perfectly designed for both families and urban living.

The ATTO 2 features BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 and Blade Battery, integrating the battery into the vehicle chassis using Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction for improved packaging and rigidity. This innovative approach, a first for a compact SUV, enhances safety and durability. The Blade Battery, made with lithium iron phosphate (LFP), offers superior safety, temperature resistance, and longevity, while being 100% cobalt and nickel-free. It also excels in performance, with a design that maximizes space efficiency and surpasses rigorous safety tests like the Nail Penetration Test.

The ATTO 2 comes with a choice of two Blade Battery sizes. The standard range edition features a 45.1 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of 312 km, paired with a 130 kW front-mounted motor. A larger-battery version will be available soon, offering even greater range. Full specifications, including details on the car’s equipment and range options, will be revealed ahead of the full European launch in February.
