BYD Sealion 07 DM-i launched in China

Shenzhen, China- BYD Auto Co., Ltd has officially launched the Sealion 07 DM-i, a mid-size plug-in hybrid SUV. Positioned to rival popular models like the Tesla Model Y, Li Auto L6, and Toyota Highlander, the Sealion 07 DM-i stands out with its combination of cutting-edge hybrid technology, long driving range, and an extensive list of features. The SUV is offered in three trims: the 150 Pilot Edition, 150 Pilot Plus Edition, and 135 Performance Radar Edition. All variants are powered by BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid system, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of up to 150 km and a combined range of 1,320 km on a full tank and charge, while maintaining an impressive fuel efficiency of 4.7L/100 km in hybrid mode.

Performance-wise, the Sealion 07 DM-i features a 1.5T hybrid engine paired with dual electric motors (200 kW at the front and 150 kW at the rear), enabling 0–100 km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds and a top speed exceeding 200 km/h. The SUV also supports 53 kW DC fast charging and uses BYD’s Yun-C damping control system for enhanced ride comfort. Inside, the cabin showcases BYD’s “Glacier World” design theme and includes high-end amenities such as a 26-inch AR head-up display, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen with DiLink 100, 10-point massage front seats, a dual-zone refrigerator (cooling to -6°C and heating to 50°C), and a 12-speaker Dynaudio audio system.

Driver assistance is handled by the DiPilot system, available in two versions DiPilot 100 with a triple-camera setup and DiPilot 300 featuring lidar offering features like navigation assistance, lane change support, and urban parking with up to 90% success rate. An optional “Ling Yuan” in-car drone system is also available across all trims. In terms of size, the Sealion 07 DM-i measures 4,880 mm in length with a 2,820 mm wheelbase and offers 645 litres of trunk space. Its sleek exterior design includes e-shaped LED lights and a coupe-style sloping roofline. With a lower price point than many premium competitors and a rich suite of features, the Sealion 07 DM-i is set to appeal to hybrid SUV buyers seeking long range, advanced technology, and excellent value. The vehicle is currently on sale in China, with planned rollouts in Southeast Asia, Europe, and Australia.
