Las Vegas, United States - Caterpillar Inc., a construction machinery manufacturer, has launched Cat AI Assistant, an AI-powered solution designed to help customers buy, manage, maintain, and operate Caterpillar equipment more efficiently. The assistant combines Caterpillar’s digital applications and extensive data into a single conversational interface, providing personalized insights to support faster, smarter decision-making.

Cat AI Assistant acts as a proactive partner, monitoring equipment and operations to turn unplanned incidents into planned maintenance. It evolves with business operations, offering recommendations to match growing workloads.

Technicians can use the assistant to access manuals, receive step-by-step repair guidance, identify common issues, and determine required parts — all without interrupting ongoing tasks, saving time and resources.

Operators benefit from in-cab guidance throughout the workday, from machine startup to shift handoff. Powered by the NVIDIA Jetson Thor platform, Cat AI Assistant provides speech recognition, advanced AI support, and even assistance with directing machinery, helping operators work more safely and efficiently.

Caterpillar plans to launch the off-board version of Cat AI Assistant in the first quarter of 2026, with in-cab applications in the final stages of validation. The company will demonstrate these capabilities at CES 2026.

Ogi Redzic, Caterpillar Chief Digital Officer, said, “Cat AI Assistant is a major leap forward in how Caterpillar supports customer success through best-in-class digital solutions, whether they’re at corporate headquarters or a remote jobsite.”
