Irving, Texas - Caterpillar Inc., a construction and mining equipment manufacturer, has announced the upcoming launch of its new Cat 140 LVR Motor Grader, bringing its most popular motor grader model onto the company’s next generation platform. The machine, known for its versatility and reliability, will be available starting in early 2026.
The Cat 140 has long been a mainstay in roadbuilding, ditching, snow clearance, and municipal operations, earning a reputation for performance and transportability. With the transition to the next generation platform, Caterpillar says the 140 will deliver enhanced versatility, operator comfort, and efficiency.
A redesigned cab, borrowed from the Cat 120 next gen models, features larger windows for improved visibility, a standard rearview camera integrated into a 10-inch touchscreen, and a new adjustable seat for increased comfort and reduced fatigue. Operators also gain access to advanced technology functions, including Cat Grade and optional 3D systems to boost precision and productivity.
The 140 maintains Caterpillar’s focus on low operating costs and fuel efficiency, with centralized maintenance points and a favorable power-to-weight ratio. According to Caterpillar, more than 40,000 testing hours worldwide have already confirmed its durability and performance.
Mr. Pablo dos Santos, Global Product Application Specialist at Caterpillar, said, “Versatility in operation has always been Caterpillar’s strength, and the 140 Motor Grader has been a classic demonstration of that virtue. It’s exciting to see Caterpillar’s most popular motor grader model joining the Cat 120 Motor Grader receiving next generation treatment. We expect it will only add to the machine’s popularity.”
The next generation Cat 140 expands Caterpillar’s growing family of updated motor graders, following the Cat 120, and reinforces the company’s commitment to efficiency, reliability, and advanced operator-focused technology.
