Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany- Daimler Truck AG., the first Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 semitrailer tractor delivered in Germany has gone to Logistik Schmitt GmBH., an logistics company. Ronald Ott, Head of Sales Trucks Mercedes-Benz and FUSO Germany, handed over the small series produced e-truck to Rainer Schmitt, Managing Partner of Logistik Schmitt.

The company, which is headquartered in Bietigheim, Baden-Württemberg, plans to employ the e-truck for multishift engine transportation between its logistics plant in Germersheim and the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth, which is 25 km away. Afterwards, the route will also include the Mannheim engine facility. The logistics company plans to expand its fleet with six eActros 300 semitrailer tractors in total. The Dutch food logistics business Simon Loos received the first semitrailer tractor version of the tiny eActros 300 series in June 2023. The eActros 300 model is scheduled to go into official series production before the end of the year.

Mr. Ronald Ott Head of Sales Trucks Mercedes-Benz and FUSO Germany, said that, Since 2019, Logistics Schmitt has been a crucial collaborator in the eActros' testing. Logistik Schmitt has provided comprehensive testing support for the e-truck's development phases, starting with the first prototype and ending with the electric articulated vehicle. The fact that the corporation is now permanently adding the eActros to its fleet makes us even happier.

Mr. Rainer Schmitt Managing Partner of Logistik Schmitt, said that, Over the past few years, we have used the eActros for distribution transport to illustrate its capabilities. We decided to buy the variation as a semitrailer tractor as well because of the Mercedes-Benz vehicles overall philosophy, which includes special advise on electric vehicles.

But another essential component of an electric vehicle's successful operation is the availability of charging options. Early on, the logistics company started building an appropriate infrastructure for charging at its locations. At the Wörth plant's unloading locations, there are also appropriate charging stations accessible.

The eActros 300 semitrailer tractor is based on the same technology as the eActros 300/400 with a platform chassis, which has been in series production since 2021. Three battery packs with 112 kWh installed battery capacity each1 enable a range of up to 220 km with a single battery charge. The eActros 300 can be charged with up to 160 kW,  the three battery packs require just over an hour to charge from 20 to 80% at a standard DC rapid charging station with 400 A charging current.
