FlixBus Expands in South India

Expanding in South India, connecting 33 cities with 200+ new routes and offering a ₹99 promotional fare

Bengaluru- FlixBus GMBH., (Flix Bus), a Germany-based travel tech company, has partnered with six local bus operators to expand its reach across South India. The company is set to connect 33 cities across Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, enhancing its network with over 200 new connections in the region.

FlixBus currently operates in South India with plans to serve a total of 101 cities and 215 stops across the country. The launch of services in Bengaluru marks a significant milestone, as the city will serve as a key hub for FlixBus’s operations in the region.

To celebrate the launch, FlixBus is offering a special promotional fare of ₹99 for bookings made between September 3 and September 15, 2024. This promotion applies to travel dates from September 10 to October 6, 2024, and covers newly launched routes connecting Bengaluru with major cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Belagavi.

One of the most anticipated new routes is the daily service between Bengaluru and Belagavi. This route features a luxury air-conditioned sleeper bus, designed for overnight travel comfort. The bus departs from Bengaluru’s Majestic bus terminal at 9:10 PM, reaching Belagavi by 6:55 AM the following morning. The return service leaves Belagavi at 9:15 PM and arrives in Bengaluru at 6:25 AM.

FlixBus is committed to ensuring passenger safety, with advanced features such as ABS (anti-lock braking system), ESC (electronic stability control), and two-point seat belts provided for all passengers.

Mr. MB Patil, Karnataka’s Minister for Commerce & Industries, Infrastructure, expressed strong support for FlixBus's expansion, “FlixBus will address the long-distance mobility needs of people in Karnataka and the southern region by providing a technology-driven, collective transport alternative.”
