Offenbach am Main /MILAN, Germany - Hyundai Motor Europe, an automotive manufacturer, has unveiled the IONIQ 3, a fully electric compact hatchback created to make EV driving more intuitive, comfortable, and suited to everyday life in Europe. The model blends a bold exterior inspired by Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” design philosophy with user-friendly technology and a roomy, comfort-focused cabin. As part of the IONIQ family, it reflects Hyundai’s broader goal of advancing electrification and connected mobility under its “Progress for Humanity” vision, with a design language centered on simplicity, precision, and authentic materials.

The IONIQ 3 also debuts a new “Aero Hatch” body style, shaped to improve aerodynamic performance while preserving interior spaciousness. Its sleek, low front flows into a distinctive roofline that stays level across both rows before tapering smoothly into the rear spoiler. This layout helps maximize cabin space, offering strong headroom and greater rear-seat comfort.

Mr. Xavier Martinet, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe, said “With IONIQ 3, we are bringing the bold design, driving enjoyment and advanced features of the IONIQ brand to a broader range of customers across Europe, Built for people's real everyday needs, IONIQ 3 combines an expected segment-leading driving range and aerodynamics with extraordinary levels of space, comfort and practicality. IONIQ 3 also marks the debut of the Pleos Connect infotainment system, delivering sharp graphics, an intuitive user experience and broad customisation options – raising the bar for the segment.”

Hyundai’s new IONIQ 3 introduces an “Aero Hatch” design that balances aerodynamic efficiency with strong interior space, targeting a class-leading drag coefficient of 0.263. Built on the E-GMP platform with a 400-volt architecture, it offers two battery options with projected WLTP ranges of 344 km for the Standard Range version and up to 496 km for the Long-Range model. DC fast charging from 10 to 80 percent takes around 29 minutes, while AC charging supports up to 22 kW.

The cabin is designed to deliver upper-segment spaciousness in a compact EV, with a flat-floor layout, five-seat comfort, and 441 litres of luggage capacity, supported by the integrated Megabox for added practicality. Hyundai’s new Pleos Connect infotainment system, based on Android Automotive OS, enhances usability with intuitive displays and seamless connectivity. Safety and convenience are further strengthened by Hyundai SmartSense features such as Highway Driving Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Blind-Spot View Monitor.

Designed for European lifestyles, the IONIQ 3 combines bold “Art of Steel” styling, easy-to-use technology, and everyday practicality, while offering local development and production through Hyundai Motor Türkiye’s İzmit plant.
