Moline, Illinois - Deere & Company., a construction machinery manufacturer, has introduced its new 510 P-Tier Excavator, a powerful upgrade to the 470 P-Tier model, offering enhanced fuel efficiency, lower ownership costs, and integrated smart technologies to boost productivity on the jobsite.
The 510 P-Tier is powered by a 9.0L John Deere Power Systems engine, delivering the same net horsepower and responsive performance as the previous 13.5L engine in the 470 P-Tier, while significantly improving fuel economy. This efficiency gain is partly due to a new electronic, on-demand cooling system, which replaces conventional hydraulic fans with ten electric fans (E-Fans) that intelligently regulate airflow to optimize cooling and reduce engine load.
Mr. Justin Steger, Product marketing manager at John Deere, said, “We maintained the same net horsepower to give operators the impressive performance they expect from a 51 metric ton machine. The additional value to the customer is found in lower ownership and operating costs with this machine.”
Compared to the 470 P-Tier, the 510 P-Tier delivers a 10% reduction in maintenance costs and a 16% drop in repair expenses over its lifecycle, offering long-term savings and improved operational uptime.
Continuing John Deere’s focus on smart machine solutions, the 510 P-Tier offers a full suite of grade management options. Contractors can choose between 2D Grade Guidance, 2D SmartGrade Ready Control, or integrated 3D SmartGrade technology. These systems help operators reach grade faster, reduce over-excavation, and minimize the need for rework, resulting in greater accuracy and efficiency.
To further enhance jobsite awareness, the excavator comes standard with an integrated right, rear, and left camera system supported by LED surround lighting. The camera views are displayed directly on the in-cab monitor, giving operators a 270-degree field of vision.
The 510 P-Tier combines John Deere’s hallmark reliability with modern design and technology to meet the evolving needs of construction professionals. With its focus on reduced fuel usage, lower maintenance and repair costs, and cutting-edge grade control, the 510 P-Tier is engineered for high productivity and long-term value.
