Moline, Illinois - DEERE & COMPANY., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has introduced John Deere Path, a cutting-edge mapping solution designed to enhance precision and safety in snow removal operations. Snow-covered roads present unique challenges, especially in rural and low-visibility areas. John Deere Path aims to help operators navigate these conditions more effectively by providing accurate guidance on road edges and boundaries, even in difficult winter weather.

Mr. Matt Costello, product marketing manager at John Deere, said, “Snow removal, particularly in rural regions where visibility is limited, demands high accuracy to ensure safe and efficient clearing. With much of the U.S. infrastructure located in snow-prone zones, John Deere Path equips operators with the confidence to stay on course and complete their work reliably.”

John Deere Path, built on the StarFire receiver and G5 display, lets operators pre-map road boundaries before snowfall, creating precise guidance routes sent to the John Deere Operations Center. During snow events, real-time maps and audible alerts help keep equipment on track, reducing accident risks. The G5 Universal Display shows road edges and guidance over satellite imagery, with alerts for drift. It also tracks completed work and lets operators add points of interest for route changes or maintenance needs.

John Deere Operations Center plays a vital role in managing snow removal fleets. It integrates mapped routes and work data, offering insights into total area cleared, machine location, work duration, and fuel usage. These analytics help fleet managers make informed decisions and optimize resource allocation.

John Deere Path is offered in two versions to suit different operational needs. The standard John Deere Path is designed for seamless integration with John Deere Motor Graders from model year 2016 onward. For mixed fleets or older machines, John Deere Path Universal includes a modem for a fully closed-loop system compatible with various equipment, including plow trucks.

By harnessing advanced mapping and precision technologies, John Deere Path delivers greater accuracy, enhanced operator awareness, and integrated fleet management capabilities - helping keep roadways safe, clear, and communities moving during winter months.
