Date: June 7, 2025Moline, Illinois - Deere & Company., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has introduced its new F8 and F9 Series self-propelled forage harvesters, designed to enhance driving comfort, advanced automation, and precision farming capabilities while improving silage quality.
All six F8 models are powered by the JD14X engine, compliant with Stage V emissions, ranging from 425 PS (313 kW) in the F8 100 to 645 PS (475 kW) in the F8 600. HarvestMotion technology maximizes productivity by maintaining power across a wide rpm range and improving fuel efficiency during transport and headlands.
The F9 series, featuring models from F9 500 to F9 700, uses the JD18X engine, delivering between 700 PS (515 kW) and 820 PS (603 kW). This engine boasts John Deere controls, a high-pressure common-rail fuel system, serial turbochargers, cooled exhaust gas recirculation, and operates without diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), incorporating HarvestMotion Plus technology.
The top-tier F9 900 and 1000 models run on a Liebherr 24.2L V12 engine with up to 1020 PS (750 kW), also featuring HarvestMotion for maximum throughput and driveability.
John Deere’s new F8 and F9 harvesters feature Ground Speed Automation, Active Fill Control, and the ProTouch system for automated harvesting. They offer a spacious cab with smart storage, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a premium ActiveSeat with massage and climate control. Enhanced visibility, a 230° rotating spout, and tight 6-meter turning radius boost efficiency in the field.
The F8 and F9 harvesters feature intuitive controls with customizable driver profiles for quick setup changes. The ergonomic CommandPRO joystick has 11 programmable buttons and is controlled via the fast, 35% larger G5/G5Plus CommandCenter touchscreen (1080P). An optional extended monitor doubles the display area, while a corner post screen shows essential data for easy access.
Mr. Philippe Steinmann, Go to Market Manager Europe at John Deere, said, “With the F8 and F9, we’ve reimagined the entire operator’s environment to deliver maximum comfort and intuitive control. It has been built around the operator. The F8 and F9 can be equipped with advanced automation and John Deere precision ag technology. From ground speed automation to intelligent crop tracking or ProTouch Harvest, these features help operators to focus on the harvesting job, achieving both efficiency and forage quality.”
