John Deere updates its sprayer lineup with improved weed control, featuring See & Spray Select, AutoTrac, and ExactApply enhancements.
Date: March 17, 2025
Moline, Illinois - Deere & Company., an agricultural machinery manufacturer, has enhanced its John Deere and Hagie sprayer lineup to improve weed control. The updates feature a new variable rate See & Spray Select, AutoTrac automation, and ExactApply enhancements, all designed to help maximize yield potential.
Mr. Josh Ladd, Go-to-market manager for application at John Deere, said, “Application equipment makes an average of three passes over the same field during a growing season. The updates we are bringing this season are designed to help save growers on input costs and reduce crop damage. The new variable rate option with See & Spray technology gives small-grain farmers the versatility to apply less or more of a solution based on the given scenario. This allows the farmer the ability to precisely apply product no matter the time of season.”
See & Spray Select Variable Rate
See & Spray technology continues to evolve, offering farmers enhanced options for reducing inputs and improving targeted weed control. Traditionally used for managing weeds in fallow fields, See & Spray Select now features new variable rate capabilities that enable precise application and significant product savings for later-season fungicide, desiccant, and preharvest treatments.
This advanced system allows farmers to monitor the percentage of biomass detected by each camera across the field. The cameras assess green biomass levels and adjust the application volume accordingly. Farmers can then fine-tune product application at the individual nozzle level based on these biomass percentages, ensuring targeted treatment where it is needed most. Implementing variable rate capabilities requires a G5 or G5Plus CommandCenter display.
See & Spray Select will come factory-installed on model year 2026 John Deere 400 and 600 Series sprayers equipped with 90-ft., 100-ft., or 120-ft. steel booms. Additionally, it will be available as a precision upgrade kit for model year 2018 and newer John Deere sprayers featuring ExactApply and a 120-ft. steel boom.
See & Spray Premium
See & Spray Premium now offers new boom sizes - 90-ft., 100-ft., and 120-ft., as a precision upgrade. Also, it will be available on Hagie STS20 sprayers 2026.
AutoTrac Turn Automation (ATTA)
ATTA technology on John Deere and Hagie sprayers, ensures smooth, accurate turns while reducing crop trampling and improving yield. It lets operators focus on boom management and speed control. Compatible with select John Deere and Hagie models (2022+), ATTA comes with Automation 4.0 on Gen4 displays and the G5 Advanced license for G5-equipped machines.
AutoTrac Vision 2.0
AutoTrac Vision 2.0 enhances sprayer control by keeping wheels centered in rows, reducing crop damage and boosting yields. It enables faster spraying (up to 22 mph) with precise navigation on slopes (up to 6°) and curves (50m radius). A stereo and mono camera system ensures superior visibility, detecting crops as short as 4 inches. Available as a factory option on 2026 John Deere sprayers.
ExactApply updates
ExactApply Variable Rate capabilities with Multi-Rate and AutoSelect Pulsing, enabling precise product application across up to 11 boom sections. This enhances variable rate prescriptions and curve compensation. Available as a software update for 2023-2025 sprayers, it will come factory-installed on 2026 models with enhanced features.
