Pune- Škoda Auto India., has introduced the updated Kushaq, strengthening its position in the highly competitive Indian SUV market. The refreshed model brings segment-first technologies most notably an all-new eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission and a Rear Seat Massage function along with expanded standard equipment. The update aligns with Škoda’s strategy of making European engineering more accessible for Indian customers.

Building on strong momentum, the Kushaq has recorded sales of over 94,900 units since its debut and is exported to markets including Vietnam, the Middle East, and Africa. The update further supports India’s role as Škoda Auto’s key growth pillar outside Europe.

The updated Kushaq adopts Škoda’s Modern Solid design language, featuring a redesigned front grille with chrome ribs and an illuminated light band, new LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, and front parking sensors. At the rear, connected LED taillamps with sequential indicators and illuminated Škoda lettering enhance visual appeal. Alloy wheels are now standard across variants. The SUV is offered in eight colours, including new shades Shimla Green, Steel Grey, and Cherry Red and, for the first time, the Monte Carlo variant is available from launch.

The Kushaq introduces a segment-first eight-speed torque-converter automatic paired with the 1.0 TSI engine (85 kW, 178 Nm), also available with a six-speed manual. The 1.5 TSI engine (110 kW, 250 Nm) continues with a seven-speed DSG and features Active Cylinder Technology, along with disc brakes on all four wheels. Ground clearance remains a robust 188 mm.

Inside, the updated Kushaq offers a panoramic sunroof, dual-colour ambient lighting, six-way electric ventilated front seats, and a spacious boot (491 litres, expandable to 1,405 litres). A 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is paired with an AI Companion powered by Google Automotive AI, enabling natural voice control tailored for Indian English accents.

Safety remains a core focus, with the Kushaq retaining a five-star Global NCAP rating. More than 25 safety features are standard across all variants, including six airbags, while higher trims offer over 40 features. Enhancements such as rear wiper, rear defogger, and rain-sensing wipers are now standard, improving all-weather safety.

With these updates, Škoda Auto India aims to elevate the Kushaq’s value proposition, broaden its appeal, and drive further growth in its most important international market.
