Tokyo, Japan- Mitsubishi Motors Corporation., announced that its European subsidiary, Mitsubishi Motors Europe B.V., will begin the sequential rollout of the all-new Eclipse Cross battery electric vehicle (BEV) before the end of 2025. The new model will be manufactured at Renault Group’s ElectriCity Douai Plant in France, under an OEM supply agreement with Alliance partner Renault. Following the ASX, Colt, and Grandis, this launch marks the next step in Mitsubishi Motors’ electrification journey in Europe.

Built on the CMF-EV platform and designed exclusively as a BEV, the Eclipse Cross blends Mitsubishi’s distinctive design DNA with advanced electric technology. The exterior features the brand’s evolved Dynamic Shield front identity, a sculpted body with flowing J-shaped lines, striking 20-inch alloy wheels, and a bold rear that adopts the company’s signature Hexagonal Stability theme. Together, these elements convey strength, modernity, and a commanding road presence.

Inside, the Eclipse Cross follows a Sporty and Modern design concept. Horizontal satin silver accents give the cabin a sense of openness, while diamond-stitched seats offer comfort and sophistication. Ambient lighting with 48 customizable colors enhances the mood and adapts to drive modes, while an electrochromic panoramic glass roof allows drivers to adjust between transparent and shaded settings at the touch of a button. The two-row, five-seat layout emphasizes practicality, space, and comfort.

Powering the vehicle is an 87 kWh battery, delivering an estimated 600 km WLTP driving range. With 160 kW of output and 300 Nm of torque, the Eclipse Cross provides powerful, immediate acceleration and smooth handling across various road conditions. Drivers can adjust regenerative braking through steering-wheel paddles, while a one-pedal driving function enhances urban convenience. Charging options include up to 22 kW AC and 150 kW DC fast charging, ensuring flexibility for both daily use and long-distance travel. A medium-range version will follow in 2026.

On the technology front, the Eclipse Cross is equipped with a vertical 12.3-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio (SDA) system and comes with Google built-in, offering direct access to Google Maps, Assistant, and Play. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are also supported. A Harman Kardon premium audio system provides immersive sound with selectable modes, while the Mitsubishi Motors mobile app allows remote control of vehicle functions. Over-the-air (OTA) updates ensure the car’s systems remain up to date.

Safety remains a core focus, with up to 20 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) available. Key features include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, MI-PILOT highway assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Automatic Emergency Braking. Combined with cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors, these systems deliver peace of mind and enhanced driver confidence.

Mr. Takao Kato, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors, said, “Launching the all-new Eclipse Cross is a major step in our European electrification strategy. Having pioneered the world’s first mass-produced BEV, we remain committed to offering environmentally friendly vehicles and supporting the shift toward carbon neutrality while meeting the diverse needs of European customers.”

With its blend of range, design, connectivity, and safety, the new Eclipse Cross BEV strengthens Mitsubishi Motors’ European lineup and underlines the company’s commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable mobility solutions.
