Nissan launches all-new N6 in China

China- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced that Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFN), its joint venture in China, is launching the N6 plug-in hybrid sedan an all-new, technology-rich model designed for young families.

The N6 marks Nissan’s first PHEV sedan in the Chinese market and debuts on the brand-new Tianyan Architecture, which incorporates Dongfeng Nissan’s next-generation new energy vehicle (NEV) technologies. Powered by a 1.5-liter engine paired with a high-capacity 21.1 kWh LFP battery, the N6 will be available in five variants: 180 Air, 180 Pro, 180 Max, 180 Max+, and the flagship 170 Max+. This new offering represents an important addition to Nissan’s fast-expanding China lineup, developed to deliver innovation, speed, and products tailored to diverse local customer needs.

The N6 adopts the brand’s “Wind Trace” design philosophy, giving the sedan a sleek and aerodynamic silhouette comparable to C-segment luxury models. Its front fascia features slim, sharp headlights with an adaptive high-beam system, improving nighttime visibility, while the distinctive “hurricane-eye” taillights create a bold three-dimensional effect. Customers can choose from six exterior colors, including Sunlight Gold, Hyacinth Purple, Flowing Silver, Obsidian Black, Rock Grey, and Pearl White.

Inside, the N6 delivers a 360-degree wraparound cabin feel with soft-touch materials covering more than 85% of the surfaces. The front seats are equipped with AI Zero-Pressure Cloud Cushion technology that uses adaptive posture algorithms to maximize comfort. Rear passengers benefit from a newly developed Zero-Pressure Cloud Cushion Sofa, designed to turn long journeys into a restful experience. Premium Gel Material seats provide a supple, leather-like texture. The cabin is available in Off-White or Elegant Black, each paired with either Rose Gold or Night Purple interior trim.

The N6 introduces a fully self-developed Cloud Comfort Cabin centered around Nissan’s infotainment system, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8775 automotive-grade processor and a 15.6-inch 2.5K ultra-clear display. The Xiao Ni voice assistant powered by iFlytek’s Spark and DeepSeek supports multiple Chinese dialects and responds from any seat in the car. The quiet cabin enhances entertainment experiences such as wireless karaoke.

Advanced driver assistance is supported by a customized end-to-end system co-developed with Momenta, enabling support for highway driving, city navigation, parking scenarios, and more.

Safety is enhanced through a strong monocoque body, reinforced battery protection, seven airbags including side curtain airbags measuring over two meters and a suite of 16 active safety assistance features. Nissan conducted more than 7,400 R&D validation tests, 5,500 prototype quality checks, and over 2,000 vehicle inspections to ensure long-term durability.
