Bolechowo-Osiedle, Poland- Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o., won a tender to supply 110 mild hybrid vehicles to ATAC S.p.A., a public transport company in Rome. The offer for Solaris Urbino 18, equipped with advanced mild hybrid systems, received the highest rating. These eco-friendly vehicles will hit the streets of Rome in 2024, Solaris winning the bid conducted by Gubielo Spa.

Gubielo Spa and ATAC Roma have recently ordered 244 Solaris Urbino 12 CNG buses for Rome in 2024 and 2025. These buses run on compressed natural gas and were chosen for their advantages. Additionally, there's an option to increase the order by 78 more units, pending a decision by the contracting authority in the coming months.

olaris will not only deliver the buses but also provide servicing for the next 10 years. The total value of the vehicles and services, if all options are utilized, could reach up to EUR 200 million.

These new buses aren't Solaris's first in Rome. Previously, they delivered 30 trolleybuses to ATAC in 2003-2004. Plus, over 700 Solaris Inter Urbino vehicles are already in use for regional transport in Rome's suburbs. Overall, Solaris has supplied over 1800 vehicles to Italy.
