Jakarta, Indonesia- PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor (SIM),is a joint venture between Suzuki Motor Corporation and the Indomobil Group, a manufacturer of Suzuki vehicles for the domestic and international markets officially launched the all-new FRONX, a next-generation compact SUV. With this launch, Indonesia becomes the second production hub for the FRONX, following its original manufacturing base in India by Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
The FRONX introduces a new genre of compact SUV, built on the concept of an easy-to-handle coupe-style SUV. It features a bold, high-quality design that blends sophistication with sporty appeal. Developed for urban drivers, the FRONX offers smooth and responsive performance, along with the latest safety features and a spacious, comfortable interior.
Already sold in over 70 countries and regions, including India, Latin America, Africa, and Japan, the FRONX’s local production at SIM’s Chikarang Plant marks a strategic expansion of Suzuki’s global manufacturing footprint. Indonesia is now positioned as a key hub for regional exports, particularly to ASEAN markets.
With demand for compact two-row SUVs growing rapidly in Indonesia, SIM aims to provide customers with greater variety and choice. The company targets annual sales of 24,000 units in the domestic market, while also exporting the model to neighboring countries.
The Indonesian FRONX will be available with a 1.5L gasoline engine, offered in both mild hybrid and standard gasoline variants, and paired with 5-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, or 4-speed automatic transmissions. The vehicle measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, and 1,550 mm in height, making it well-suited for city use with the versatility of an SUV.
By introducing the FRONX in Indonesia, Suzuki reinforces its commitment to delivering stylish, efficient, and region-specific mobility solutions strengthening its presence in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic automotive markets.
