Ashok Leyland total sales up 10% to 12,974 units in April

Chennai- Ashok Leyland., the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, has reported a 10% increase in total sales in April 2023, compared to the same period last year. According to the company's latest sales data, it sold 12,974 units in April 2023, up from 11,847 units in April 2022. 

This growth in sales was driven by healthy fleet availability, which was led by the demand from construction-led activities, auto carriers, white goods, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) products. The company's fleet utilization rate is currently at around 80%, indicating a strong demand for its vehicles. 

Domestic sales also saw a 10% increase in April 2023, with the company selling 12,366 units, up from 11,197 units in April 2022. The growth in sales was driven by strong demand for light commercial vehicles, which stood at 4,944 units in the domestic market, up from 4,124 units in April 2022. 

Medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales also saw a 5% increase in April 2023, with the company selling 7,422 units, up from 7,073 units in April 2022. The increase in sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles is particularly significant as these are the company's main products and account for a significant portion of its revenue.
