Auto Expo 2018 – Motor Show - CV Manufacturers showcased Electric Vehicles
It is organized jointly by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), the Society of Indian Auto mobile manufacturer (SIAM), automotive component manufacturer association (ACMA).
Noida/New Delhi - The 14th edition of Auto Expo 2018, which was held in New Delhi during 9-14 February, 2018 and organized jointly by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), the Society of Indian Auto mobile manufacturer (SIAM), Automotive Component Manufacturer Association (ACMA), was the scene of electric, alternate fueled vehicles and new product range by the commercial vehicle manufacturers. Commercial vehicle manufacturers focus on electric, hybrid, alternative fuel drive vehicles and solutions pre-dominantly for urban mobility.
Ashok Leyland Ltd
Ashok Leyland Ltd of Chennai, a commercial vehicle manufacturer and Sun mobility solutions jointly showcased its Circuit-S, a fully electric swappable battery bus.

We certainly see this technology solution as the biggest enabler for our STUs and the biggest contributor to our nation’s mobility vision of becoming 100% electric,” Mr. Vinod K. Dasari added.
Circuit-S powered by permanent magnet synchronous AC motor with SUN Mobility’s swappable small Li-ion Smart Battery coupled with 2 speed automatic transmission. The chassis of 9m length, wheel base of 4860mm is fitted with parabolic weveller suspension at front and air suspension at rear controlled with electro hydraulic power steering system.
JBM Solaris Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd
JBM Solaris Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd, a JV between, Commercial Vehicle Manufacturer JBM Auto Ltd. of Gurugram and Europe’s e-mobility major, Solaris Bus & Coach S.A., of Bolechowo launched its 100% Electric Bus series ECO-LIFE at the Auto Expo 2018.
ECO-LIFE will be manufactured at the plant in Faridabad (Haryana) and Kosi (Uttar Pradesh). These plants have an installed capacity to manufacture 2000 buses annually.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Nishant Arya, Executive Director, JBM Group, said “India is promisingly advancing towards graduating to a non-fossil fuel based public transportation ecosystem. Our Government is aggressively looking at incorporating 100% eco-friendly and self-sustainable mass transport solutions by 2030. ECO LIFE 12m e-bus is powered by fast charging lithium ion battery pack can run 150-200kms in 10-15 hours of city bus operation, depending on the city’s traffic conditions. The lithium ion batteries are chargeable through pantograph as well as plug-in charging system. Ergonomically designed interiors with passenger information system, GPS, Vehicle Health Monitoring System(VHMS), Battering management system and fire detection & suppression system. Added electronic braking system, all wheel disk brakes assisted by ABS, ECAS (electronically controlled air suspension).
Tata Motors Ltd of Mumbai, a commercial vehicle manufacturer launched its new product line ULTRA T.71 and 6 Axle Rigid Truck - Signa 43232.
Ultra T.7 is 7t gvw, powered with TATA 3L engine with VGT BS4, EGR offering maximum output of 125ps and maximum torque of 360 Nm @ 1400-2000 rpm, which is matched with G400 Automated manual transmission with Optidrive (Wabco AMT system with Hill assist). The chassis of 6m length, wheel base of 3550 mm is fitted with Parabolic springs with antiroll bar at front and Semi-Elliptical Leaf Springs with parabolic auxiliary at rear. Added ABS with Hill assist, Central door locking, Reverse parking sensors, Reverse parking camera, Lane departure warning system and telematics.
Signa 4323.T is 43000 Kg, powered Cummins ISBe 6.7 L 230 CRe BS4 (ISBe 5.9 L option) SCR technology offering maximum output of 229 HP@2500 rpm and maximum torque of 850 Nm@1200-1700 rpm, which is matched with TATA G950(6 Forward & 1 reverse). The Ladder type heavy duty frame, wheelbase 6750 is fitted with Parabolic leaf spring at front & Bell Crank suspension at Rear. Added Air Brakes With automatic adjustment, Parking Brakes, Exhaust Brake, ABS etc.,
Commercial vehicles maker SML Isuzu Ltd of Chandigarh, Punjab owned by Sumitomo Corporation of Japan, showcased three current vehicle modes Samrat GS (Global Series) HD 19, Sartaj GS CNG with turbo and Samrat GS tipper chassis, and also launched advanced telematics solutions - SML Saarthi- in partnership with Minda iConnect Pvt Ltd, a group of UNO MINDA, aimed at providing all time service support on road in case of need.
SML Saarthi mobile application, a driver can seek support from the nearest service station in case of breakdown or any other technical issue. The device will be installed in all the GS vehicles from April.

Goldstone eBuzz k7 intra-city bus is rated at 13T gvw powered by 3phase in wheel motor runs by BYD Goldstone FE battery with Short circuit protection/ Over temperature function/ Lightning protection. The chassis of 9m length, wheelbase of 4,400 mm is fitted with front and rear axles suspended by Electronically controlled air suspension with a seating capacity of 29 and an optional provision for one wheelchair.
